NEW YORK –One of the biggest crowd brawls in UFC history broke out right as Saturday’s UFC 322 pay-per-view broadcast went live and several familiar names were in the middle of the chaos. As Jon Anik, Joe Rogan, and Daniel Cormier began their opening commentary and “Baba O’Riley” by The Who blasted through Madison Square Garden, a wild melee erupted in the crowd involving Dillon Danis and multiple members of Team Khabib, including Abubakar Nurmagomedov and Magomed Zaynukov, among others.

It’s not yet clear what sparked the initial confrontation, but within seconds dozens of people were involved. Security personnel and police rushed in as bodies tumbled toward the media area. With the skirmish spilling into the side of press row. UFC chief business officer Hunter Campbell could be seen arriving on the scene, attempting to help restore order as the fray continued.

The incident is unlikely to help Danis’ long-stated desire to join the UFC roster. But the BJJ standout has repeatedly claimed the promotion has refused to sign him because of the trouble that seems to follow him outside the cage. Regardless of who ultimately is found at fault for this latest clash, it certainly won’t quiet that narrative.

Further details, including what started the brawl and whether any disciplinary action will follow, had not yet been confirmed at the time of publication.

Consequences Will Come

You can safely assume Dana White won’t take the situation lightly. The UFC president has historically had zero tolerance for out-of-cage chaos that overshadows an event. This incident erupted seconds into a live pay-per-view broadcast inside one of the world’s most prestigious arenas. Given the scale of the melee and the high-profile names involved. It’s almost certain that strict consequences will follow once the UFC reviews footage and speaks with those involved. Sanctions, suspensions, and even bans are all possibilities, depending on how the organization assesses individual responsibility for the disruption.
