McGhee Draws Dangerous Newcomer After UFC 332 Switch

Marcus McGhee has a new opponent for UFC 332 this Saturday in Salt Lake City.

The No. 15-ranked bantamweight was set to face Bernardo Sopaj on the prelims, but Sopaj withdrew from the card. McGhee will instead welcome promotional newcomer Anthony Romero to the Octagon on three days' notice, MMA Mania reports.

Romero Brings Finishing Record Into UFC Debut

McGhee returned to the win column in June with a unanimous decision over John Yannis at UFC Vegas 118. The 11-2 fighter took his first promotional loss against current bantamweight champion Petr Yan in Abu Dhabi earlier this year. He owns a 5-1 record inside the Octagon with three finishes.

Romero enters on a two-fight streak and stopped former LFA standout Yuma Horiuchi in 25 seconds in his last outing. The 7-2 California fighter trains at Black House MMA and has finished six of seven wins — four by knockout, two by submission.

UFC 332 takes place Oct. 3 at Delta Center with Natalia Silva facing Wang Cong in the main event.
