The weight cut is one of the toughest parts of fighting. Ahead of UFC London , Melissa Mullins made weight. Her opponent did not. Now she has to sit at home. She sent a direct message to the top. Dana White, Mick Maynard, and Hunter Campbell were all tagged in a post. She made sure her situation was impossible to ignore.

The British fighter took to social media to share her frustration. The commission overseeing UFC London pulled her fight against Luana Carolina from the card. Her opponent missed weight by eight pounds. Mullins had done everything required of her, made the cut, hit the number, and prepared to fight in front of her home crowd at The O2 Arena.

However, none of it mattered once the commission stepped in. They ruled the weight gap too big. The fight could not go ahead, even if both fighters agreed. She was looking to bounce back from a decision loss to Darya Zheleznyakova last June.

That made Saturday night more important. It was a home fight. A chance to respond after a setback. An opening slot on a card with real momentum. All of it disappeared because her opponent came in eight pounds heavy. Home crowd or not, Mullins deserves to fight. She just has to wait a little longer for that moment to arrive.
