There is no doubt that no one in the UFC has been more vocal about getting married or talking about his excitement than Merab Dvalishvili. The former bantamweight champion stayed single while dominating his division. Despite his success in fighting, he feels he’s missing out on love and family life. Meanwhile, he has openly stated that his future wife’s past life matters to him.
Dvalishvili opened up about his standards for marriage during a Full Violence interview. When asked if body count matters, he said casual relationships are fine immediately or the next night, but his wife needs to be committed to him.
He said, “Absolutely, bro (body count matters to me). Either we sleeping same night or next night is no problem. This, I love this, but it’s not my wife. She only has to sleep with you only for marriage.”

That’s a traditional perspective reflecting his Georgian cultural values. ‘The Machine’ wants someone who shares his views on relationships and marriage rather than the typical Vegas dating scene. After which, Paulo Costa hilariously shared that he is on a mission to find a perfect wife for Dvalishvili.
Watching Aljamain Sterling get married triggered thoughts about his own future. Earlier, he stated that he wants to marry a Georgian girl and start a family, connecting back to his cultural roots.
Dvalishivili’s ideal woman description was specific, VIP material with a good reputation, loyal, kind, smart, and a teammate who wants a family. He acknowledged it’s hard to find that in Las Vegas, where he’s based.
In his words, “I want to get married and find the only one, the mother of my kids. I’m looking for a perfect woman – VIP material, good reputation, loyal, kind, smart, a teammate, someone who wants a family. It’s hard to find here in Vegas, but I’m still searching.”
Finding a Georgian woman who meets those standards while living in Vegas creates geographical and cultural challenges. Most Georgian women with traditional values aren’t hanging around Las Vegas casually. Meanwhile, his recent loss to Petr Yan and focus on recovery might actually help his personal life by giving him time away from constant training camps.
