Conor McGregor, now part-owner of Bare-Knuckle Fighting Championship, is keen on competing in the sport and wants to fight for the King of Violence world title, according to champion Mike Perry.
Despite his legal troubles, 'The Notorious' remains confident about a return to combat sports. The Irishman hasn't competed in over four years, with his most recent outing seeing him suffer a devastating leg break that forced an extended period away from the cage.
Reports of his return are beginning to heat up, as Conor McGregor himself has posted teasing footage online showing clips of his work in the gym. While many expected his next move to be another unforgettable walk to the octagon, that may not be the case.
According to Mike Perry, McGregor could be eyeing a headlining appearance on a BKFC card.
"Conor's done great promoting with the company," Perry said. "I'm very happy to have been involved and had brought him in the ring back in April '23."
"To get to fight him, for him to be able to get back in the ring again... To fight Conor would be incredible because I know that he does get the itch."
"I know he's very busy... He's put himself in a great place in life, where he doesn't need to fight, but you can see the desire that he has."
"There's something that interests him about bare knuckle. Other than the fact that other big names in the fight game, whether it be boxing or MMA, they look at bare knuckle and they're like, 'I don't really wanna do that.'"
"There's real, real big money in it. For Conor to come, get a huge money offer on the table against the top bare knuckle guy like myself, I think it would just be fun for all parties involved."
Mike Perry has his sights firmly set on his Jeremy Stephens clash in October, but believes a standout performance could earn him a shot at Conor McGregor.
"Everybody knows Conor's got good hands... I think we're in for a good fight on October 4th, that's what matters right now."
"I'm gonna keep building myself up and, if I make enough noise and put on a great enough show and performance, I think the possibilities of Conor coming in a fighting could be very real."
Mike Perry absolutely believes a BKFC fight against Conor McGregor could happen:
