Misfits Ring of Thrones goes down this weekend live from Manchester, England. The AO Arena will play host to an interesting main event between former UFC middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold and former UFC welterweight title challenger, Darren Till. The co-main event sees Tony Ferguson make his boxing debut as he takes on Misfits regular, Saltpapi.
The other match-up of note is the Misfits return of Dillon Danis in an MMA fight against Warren Spencer.
We give you all the things to watch from this weekend’s Misfits Ring of Thrones card.
The Misfits Ring of Thrones main event is intriguing. Darren Till is no stranger to the Misfits world having competed twice for the promotion. Firstly, he finished Anthony Taylor before defeating Darren Stewart across eight rounds in May.
Rockhold, on the other hand, has had two outings since leaving the UFC. He lost to Mike Perry in bare-knuckle before defeating Joe Schilling in a Karate Combat match.
During a promotional face-off, Till accused Rockhold of being on steroids, told him that he was going to ‘batter’ him and also praised the American for his left kick. Both men acknowledged, however, that this is a boxing match and Rockhold can’t use all of his weapons.
Whatever happens in this one, expect plenty of trash-talk in the remainder of the build up… and in the ring itself.
Making a return to combat sports in none other than fan favourite former UFC star, Tony Ferguson, as he competes in the co-main event of Misfits Ring of Thrones against regular Misfits star, Salt Papi.
Ferguson had an ending to forget to his UFC tenure, losing eight straight fights, five of which came via finish. This was even more shocking as he’d previously won 12 on the spin. Ferguson was never known for his boxing, rather, an unconventional style that utilised all of his available weapons in MMA.
Salt Papi has had six Misfits fights, with a record of 4-2. He’s on a three-fight winning run, finishing all three of these wins. He’s known for his power, something Ferguson will have to watch out for.
On August 30th, I’ll be stepping into the ring to test myself against a true legend of the fight game!! ⚔️️
Y’all be ready…. This one’s going to be all action!! @misfitsboxing @DAZNBoxing @SauerlandBros @MamsTaylor #saltpapi #Boxing #misfitsboxing #daznboxing pic.twitter.com/BJNMdhyXcW

The villain of Misfits, Dillion Danis returns to the promotion, this time being gifted a great opportunity. El jefe will be making his return to MMA for the first time since 2019 as he takes on Warren Spencer. Misfits Ring of Thrones will play host to the promotion’s first MMA match-up.
Danis will have a clear advantage on the ground, being a world-class jiu-jitsu operator, with Spencer having the advantage on the feet, especially if Danis’ last misfits fight is anything to go by…
Depending on the success of Danis vs Spencer, Misfits MMA could become interesting.
