Imavov isn’t rattled by Dana White’s hint of multiple contenders vying for one shot. He insists his résumé is stronger than anyone else’s.

“No, I’m not disappointed. I know what I’m worth. After this fight, I’m going to be the number one contender. What I’ve done in this weight class, no one else has done. Who knocked out Israel Adesanya like that? Who did? No one.”

He also dismisses Borralho’s place in the title picture altogether. After more than a year out, the Brazilian accused Imavov of ducking him, a claim the Frenchman brushed aside.

“Why does he deserve it? For what reason? What has he done? It’s been a year since he fought. He doesn’t deserve it more than De Ridder.”

If Imavov delivers another highlight-reel performance, the UFC may find it hard to deny him. For now, he’s laser-focused on Saturday night. But the message is clear: in his eyes, there are no semifinals. Beat Borralho in Paris, and it’s Khamzat Chimaev next.
