Nate Diaz has expressed an interest in fighting for Ki MMA.
Ki MMA, under the guidance of Scott Coker, is looking to make a splash after its unveiling on Monday. With a financial war chest behind it, Coker is looking to sign the best fighters in the world to deals, with the ultimate aim of competing against the UFC one day. To do so, they’ll likely need to sign high-ceiling prospects before the competition does, but also add established talent to their roster. And that’s where Nate Diaz comes in.
Diaz has been proving his worth since departing the UFC four years ago. Testing himself in the boxing world before being one of the key factors in MVP MMA’s inaugural event on Netflix. Diaz, liking what he’s hearing about the promotion, shared his immediate thoughts during the reveal.
“It’s like a new Pride coming back in action, so I like it a lot. I like the ring,” Diaz said. “People don’t even know anything about this for the nowadays, you know? It’s 2026. Everyone’s new. They’re like, ‘Oh, a new thing.’ This is the first thing. It’s old-school, and I like it.”
Not ready to call an end to his career just yet, Nate Diaz has welcomed the opportunity to fight for Ki MMA, saying:
“100% [I’d fight for Ki MMA]. Especially if there’s a ring involved. I’m going to be fighting everywhere for a cool minute. I just think [the ring] is different, and I like it. I like to have the options to fight in a ring or a cage.”
“The ring’s different; people don’t even know. You can cut people off in the corners of the ring, which you can’t do in MMA. They run in circles from you. And there’s ways to use the ring to your advantage. And there’s disadvantages, all that… Different sh*t happens in these things.”
