Mike Perry reveals negotiations with Nate Diaz have taken place regarding a potential boxing match.
The Stockton native emerged as one of the sport's biggest names following his victory over Conor McGregor in 2016. His star power has risen tenfold since, enticing fans from across the world to tune into his fights.
Despite his value in combat sports, Nate Diaz has fought just twice in three years, both coming inside the boxing ring. While a return to MMA has been teased, Diaz's next outing could once again find him stepping between the ropes into the squared circle.
According to fellow UFC alum Mike Perry, talks have commenced between him and Diaz for a boxing match.
"I heard some fun things are on the horizon," Perry said following his BKFC win over Jeremy Stephens. "Another boxing match, [this time] with Nate Diaz."
"I need to f***ing get a win in the boxing ring."
Mike Perry has become the face of the bare-knuckle boxing world since he arrived in BKFC in 2022.
One strength of Perry's is his ability to out-grit his opponents. While that will be a tough task against Nate Diaz, 'Platinum' believes Diaz doesn't pose much threat on the feet.
"I don't think Nate punches very hard," Perry continued. "I don't think he can hurt me. Will he outbox me all night? Not if I'm in this kind of shape. Not if I put that drive and pressure on him."
"He doesn't get tired, right? It'll be harder to break him with gloves on. I think it's a good boxing match."
Mike Perry then decided to double down on his desire to collide with Nate Diaz.
"It's a shield, like Captain America. I wear it on my face. Official call out, Nate Diaz, let's box."
"12 week camp starts soon."
