Nunes On Perez's Controversial Win Over Dumont

Amanda Nunes has made no secret of her displeasure with Ailin Perez's unanimous decision win over Norma Dumont at UFC Vegas 121 last weekend, and the newly minted No. 2 bantamweight contender says the former champion is obsessed with her.

Perez claimed Nunes has been responding to her Instagram stories and sending messages, according to MMA Mania. The Argentine fighter sees the attention as a sign that she is under the retired champion's skin in the same way she got to Dumont before their fight.

Perez Calls Out Nunes For Cage Showdown

"She's very upset and mad at me," Perez told Hablemos MMA. "I'm in her head like I was with Norma. She shares her opinion because she wants to fight me. If she's so tough and so mad at me, let's fight. We can sort this out in the cage."

Perez suggested Nunes was hoping to face Dumont herself and is now frustrated that opportunity has passed. The 135-pound contender said she has no problem accepting a fight with the former two-division champion despite the criticism of her Vegas performance, which many observers felt failed to deliver on the pre-fight hype.

Any potential matchup between Nunes and Perez would have to wait until after the former Lioness attempts to reclaim her crown against current champion Kayla Harrison at UFC 334 in November at Madison Square Garden. That fight marks Nunes's first appearance since retiring from MMA in 2023.
