Paddy Pimblett didn’t care that he was literally backstage at a Matchroom Boxing show when he picked a winner in the fantasy fight between Dana White and Eddie Hearn.

Fan favorite Pimblett has been with the UFC since 2021, and gets along famously with his boss. So just moments after sitting ringside with Hearn for his friend Molly McCann’s latest victory in the ring at the M&S Bank Arena last night, Pimblett didn’t hesitate in backing White.

It appears that the comical boxing match isn’t going to happen, with Hearn insisting that White has backed out. But the pair’s feud continues to heat up as the UFC boss continues his aggressive move into the sport with Zuffa Boxing.

Paddy Pimblett backs Dana White to KO Eddie Hearn

After watching Molly McCann put on probably the best performance of her boxing career on Saturday night in a raucous homecoming, Paddy Pimblett spoke to IFL TV backstage. He was asked about the fight between Dana White and Eddie Hearn, and was quick to support his boss.

“It’s not going to happen, Dana is not going to box Eddie,” Pimblett made clear. “I think it’s a bit of a mad situation. Eddie’s got the reach on him but Dana’s my boss so I’m backing Dana, he’s going to spark him out. [Molly] is going to back Eddie, I’m going to back Dana but it’s not going to happen.”

Pimblett also noted that the most intriguing part of it is the idea that two essentially geriatric novices in 46-year-old Hearn and 56-year-old White would be paid better than any UFC fighter if they did get in the ring.

“If they fought each other they’d get paid well more than what the fighters are getting paid,” he continued. “$30 mill each? No boxer is getting that under Eddie Hearn, and no UFC is getting that for Dana.

“They’d earn more dough than their fighters fighting, that’s the funniest thing. And they’ve both got nothing on any fighter we’ve got. But you know that’s just the way the world works… It’d be hilarious but first and foremost Dana is an MMA promoter and Eddie is a boxing promoter.

“They’re having a bit of a mad spat at the minute and without being disrespectful to either of them it’s very teenage girl-ish. But they’ll get over it, they’re both going to end up being sweet so we crack on for now.”
