Paddy Pimblett has vowed never to fight early in the year again after revealing how his UFC 324 training camp “ruined” his Christmas and birthday .
The Liverpool fighter made the promise while reflecting on his preparations ahead of his next bout against Justin Gaethje.
Known for his energetic personality and loyal fanbase, Pimblett didn’t hold back when explaining why the early-year fight schedule left him frustrated with its timing and toll.
Pimblett admitted that the early date for UFC 324 disrupted his personal life and training rhythm, saying he would make sure it never happens again.
“I’ve never fought this early before, this is the earliest I’ve ever fought. I’m never, ever fighting in January or February ever again.
“I just hope everyone at the UFC knows that, because it ruined my Christmas, ruined my birthday, so I’ll never be fighting this early in the year again,” Pimblett said.
The lightweight contender’s comments were met with support from fans who praised his honesty, noting that his decision-making showed maturity as he continues to balance ambition with long-term focus.
Pimblett’s attention now turns to his toughest test yet, a highly anticipated clash with former interim champion Justin Gaethje. The matchup will serve as a major benchmark in his rise through the lightweight division, pitting his pace and charisma against one of the sport’s most relentless strikers.
While Gaethje’s power and aggression have made him one of the UFC’s most feared opponents, Pimblett’s confidence and creativity remain key to his approach.
The Liverpudlian has built his career on energy, unpredictability, and the ability to thrive when under pressure, and UFC 324 will test all of it.
Despite frustrations over his training schedule, Pimblett’s drive to deliver another statement performance remains clear. His vow not to fight early in the year again may set boundaries, but it also shows a fighter learning to take control of his career, both inside and outside the octagon.
