Paddy Pimblett has responded to fans’ concerns after a video shared by UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall showed the lightweight vaping just days before his interim title fight at UFC 324 on January 24 against Justin Gaethje.

Addressing the video, “The Baddy” insisted that the habit actually assists his performance during the final stages of his weight cut. The footage showed Pimblett taking a puff while discussing his upcoming main event against Gaethje. Following a wave of backlash regarding his cardio, Pimblett clarified his stance.

Pimblett revealed that vaping helps him manage intense food cravings, as he is known for his drastic weight fluctuations. Despite the concerns, Pimblett assured supporters that he is currently the ‘lightest and fittest’ he has ever been at this stage of a camp.

“It really does, it helps you not eat. CBD vape… My weight is perfect right now. It’s the lowest I’ve ever been at this stage… Could be the vape,” Pimblett said

A History

This is not the first time that Paddy has raised controversy. Ex-Bellator welterweight champion Andrey Koreshkov recalled an encounter he had concerning Pimblett at a UFC event in August 2025. During the course of that process, Koreshkov revealed he had also seen Pimblett vaping. Those incidents could come back to haunt Paddy in the long run.

“I remember cornering Andrey Pulyaev in the USA. We stayed at the hotel where the UFC had reserved some suits. That’s where the fighters live when they come to Las Vegas. Paddy was there, he probably came as a guest to watch the fights. I was surprised that he was sitting there with friends, drinking, and vaping. Seeing that, I now have absolutely no faith in Pimblett whatsoever. While he is young, some things are forgivable for the body, but if that’s happening on a regular basis, it looks weird. The fact that Paddy balloons up to 100 kg is his own thing – I don’t see anything wrong with that,” Koreshkov stated
