Alex Pereira will make another run at heavyweight when he faces Sergei Pavlovich in the UFC 335 co-main event on Dec. 12 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The promotion announced the five-round bout during the UFC 332 broadcast on Saturday. Pereira, who held titles at both light heavyweight and middleweight, dropped a second-round technical knockout to UFC heavyweight champion Ciryl Gane at the White House card in June. He vacated the light heavyweight strap before moving up for that interim title shot.

Pavlovich Looking To Break Into Title Picture

Pavlovich brings a three-fight winning streak into the bout, most recently stopping Tallison Teixeira in the first round at UFC Macau in May, per MMA Fighting. The Russian fell short in an interim heavyweight title fight against Tom Aspinall in 2023 and lost a decision to Alexander Volkov before his current run.

A win over Pereira would put the 34-year-old back in line for another crack at UFC gold. Pavlovich has gone 8-2 in his last ten Octagon appearances.

Pereira reclaimed the light heavyweight title with a first-round technical knockout of Magomed Ankalaev before his heavyweight debut. His record stands at 13-4 overall.

UFC 335 is expected to add more fights in the coming days, as BJPenn.com confirmed.
