The PFL has confirmed that Sheikh Mohammed Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum will join the organization, as part of their ownership group.
Sheikh Mohammed, the founding Chairman of Dubai-based Alpha MBM Investments, joins as the PFL seeks to expand their presence in the Middle East. Alpha MBM Investments operates across various sectors, including sports. The PFL recently made history by becoming the first global MMA promotion to host a major event in Dubai. The Champions Series Dubai card featured a bout between Usman Magomedov and Paul Hughes.
PFL’s dedication to the region is also reflected in its ongoing PFL MENA franchise, which has already produced stars like champions Abdullah Al Qahtani and Omar El Dafrawy, while also spotlighting women’s MMA figure Hattan Alsaif. The third PFL MENA event of the season is set for September. Meanwhile, Mikhail will join as part of PFL Pacific, the fourth league set up by the PFL, following the other leagues into Europe, MENA, and Africa.
“I am delighted to join the PFL’s ownership group as I believe in PFL’s global vision to grow the sport of MMA, and I am excited by PFL’s momentum in staging world-class fight events in Dubai and the UAE region,” Sheikh Mohammed said
“PFL is excited to welcome Sheikh Mohammed and his expertise to our ownership group. This marks another major milestone in our global expansion strategy and reinforces our long-term commitment to expanding our presence in the Middle East,” Peter Murray
“MMA is one of the fastest growing sports globally, and the Pacific region is home to elite talent, passionate fans, and a growing appetite for premium fight experiences,” said Mikhail. “We’re here to build a sustainable, world-class fight league that champions local athletes and brings premium fight content to audiences across the region,” Mikhail stated
