An absolute heater of a card has been announced for November in Qatar, headlined by a fight that should end in a knockout, as most of Prochazka’s do.
Let’s go through the main card matchups, giving quick picks for each with a short blurb.
Jiri vs. Stirling (Stirling Rd.1 KO)
I could see a knockout going either way, but ONLY a knockout. My heart tells me Yiri, my mind tells me it should be Sterling, though maybe losing to Ulberg has taught Yiri to keep his hands up.
Aljamain Sterling vs. Kevin Vallejos (Aljamain UDEC)
I will say if Vallejos can put a pace on Aljo and use his pressure boxing similar to how Yan did, this fight is interesting. However we’ve seen that even up a weight class, Aljo’s grappling allows him to control positions and even sometimes ROUNDS dominantly, and he has more high caliber experience.
Dan Hooker vs. Brian Ortega (Hooker Rd. 1 TKO)
Hooker slimes Ortega out, he’s looked good against better grapplers and has too many dangerous tools for Ortega to deal with.
Asu Almabayev vs. Kyoji Horiguchi (Kyoji Horiguchi SPLIT or UDEC)
Kyoji has more and better quality experience against top level competition in and out of the UFC, but is coming off a loss to Manel Kape.
Jared Cannonier vs. Ikram Aliskerov (Aliskerov Rd.3 TKO)
People forget man (read that like Rogan) Aliskerov looked great before and have looked great after the Whittaker loss, is coming off a three fight win streak and is a finisher. I think with the beating that CLD put on Cannonier, and the one before that he received from MVP, we will see him get finished in his old age.
As the fights get closer a more in depth breakdown with betting odds will follow.
