Raja Jackson has been arrested and is currently being held in jail for his attack on independent wrestler Syko Stu, real name Stuart Smith, at an indie wrestling show last month. The attack made waves throughout the wrestling industry when footage of Jackson's beatdown went viral, and the attack left Stu hospitalized, although considering the severity of the attack, he was lucky not to have suffered worse.

Raja Jackson Has Been Arrested

TMZ confirmed that Jackson had been arrested for the attack in the early hours of Friday morning. At the time of typing this, it's believed Jackson remains behind bars and is being held on a $50,000 bond. It's not clear exactly what the MMA fighter, and son of UFC legend Rampage Jackson, has been charged with, just that he is being held on a felony charge.

The attack for which Raja has been arrested occurred at a Knokx event in LA last month, which was being streamed live on Kick. Raja got in the ring and slammed Stu to the mat, a spot that was believed to have been planned. However, the slam seemingly knocks Stu out, at which point Raja begins to repeatedly punch the unconscious wrestler in the face, landing 22 unanswered blows before he is eventually dragged off of Stu and restrained by other wrestlers.

What Happened Between Raja Jackson And Syko Stu?

Exactly what led Raja to lose his cool and unleash on Stu in such a way still isn't entirely clear. It's believed Stu hit Raja in the head with a beer earlier in the evening and, to make up for it, Raja was offered the chance to be a part of the show and get his revenge. Backstage footage from right before the attack seems to show someone else working on the show, telling Raja to get his payback in the ring.

Either Raja misunderstood what that means in wrestling terms, or he saw that as permission to let loose on Stu after the wrestler made him feel foolish earlier in the night. Who exactly was to blame for what happened has left fans divided. While many agree Raja should be punished legally for what happened, including his own father, others have pointed to the promoter who sent Raja to the ring telling him to get payback, labeling him at fault for not making what he meant by that abundantly clear.

Stu was held in hospital for several days following the attack, but is home now and seems to be recovering well. His injuries include a fractured maxilla bone, and it will likely be a while until he wrestles again.
