Raoni Barcelos has been released from the hospital following his frightening loss of consciousness during Saturday's UFC Fight Night main event against Raul Rosas Jr., sharing a photo with family on Instagram Tuesday night.
Barcelos lost consciousness during a fifth-round takedown while leading on all three scorecards, and was stretchered out of the Octagon to a trauma center. No cause has been publicly disclosed.
Dana White addressed the situation for the first time Tuesday, saying the promotion followed proper protocol throughout.
"Thank God, he's doing well. He's up walking around, talking. It goes right in line with everything I always talk about and what we do. All the pre-fight medicals were triple-checked, everything was good. There were six doctors here that night, three ambulances, he was taken straight to the trauma center. Everything was done the right way and the outcome was good," White
Barcelos has said he intends to return to training and fighting, though White said that's not a priority right now.
"Not even thinking about that. Who gives a s***? As long as the kid is OK," White
