Esteban Ribovics spent weeks sleeping in a hyperbaric chamber to prepare for the altitude in Salt Lake City ahead of his UFC 332 clash with King Green on Oct. 3.
The Argentine lightweight told reporters he used the chamber to simulate lower oxygen levels and arrived in Utah 10 days before fight week to acclimatize. He has been running in the mountains to further adjust to the conditions at Delta Center, per Sherdog.
Ribovics stopped Edson Barboza in his last outing after losing by submission to Mateusz Gamrot. He told UFC News that he expects an action fight with the veteran striker and is hunting his next bonus check. "I'm made for the bonus, I work for the bonus, I train for the bonus," he said. "King Green proposes a fight, like he comes in and is going to allow me to have a performance like that."
Green carries a 36-17-1 record into the bout. Ribovics said a strong showing could position him for a ranked opponent in the lightweight division.
