Ronda Rousey made things a bit awkward for one of Joe Rogan’s friends during a recent conversation, and it all started with a joke.

Comedian Bert Kreischer had Rousey on his podcast, where she’s been promoting her new book, Our Fight.

The conversation eventually turned to what it would take for Ronda Rousey to make a UFC comeback. That’s when the subject of money came up.

‘Rowdy’ playfully demanded a $1 billion payday before Kreischer presented himself as her potential opponent. This is when things got even more awkward when the comedian asked how Joe Rogan would view his chances against someone like Rousey, who is considered one of the best female fighters ever.

Bert Kreischer is an American stand-up comedian, podcaster, actor, and reality television host. He hosts three podcasts: Bertcast, Open Tabs, and Something’s Burning.

Ronda Rousey doesn’t hold back on Joe Rogan

Joe Rogan has been a fixture in MMA commentary for nearly three decades, but even with that kind of tenure, not everyone holds his opinions in high regard.

While Rogan never fought professionally, he did have an extensive background in taekwondo during his teenage years.

Bert Kreischer brought up Rogan during his conversation with Rousey, but she quickly dismissed the idea that he was an authority on fighting.

“He wouldn’t know,” she said. “He’s not an expert. He’s a fan with an audience. He never fought.” Kreischer pointed out Rogan’s taekwondo experience in defence, but Rousey wasn’t having any of it. She laughed and replied: “He never fought, that’s not fighting.”

Ronda Rousey shares her thoughts on Joe Rogan

In April 2024, Ronda Rousey mentioned Joe Rogan while discussing her frustrations with the MMA media.

Speaking on The Chris Cuomo Project, she said: “It was really disappointing to see how happily everybody turned on me and how people like Joe Rogan, who were crying in the ring about the honor of being able to call my fights, people I considered friends in the media, so quickly turned on me.”

“The MMA media hates me, it’s fine. Not a single person has called me or anything like that. They’ve all just doubled down and said that I’m making excuses or lying or blowing things out of proportion, or not giving credit where it’s due. No, I have not. I’ll be waiting for that call forever.”

She continued: “I’m not waiting for it, and I get that they’re a bunch of a–holes. That’s what I get. I get, ‘F— you.’ At least I would rather not have those fake friendships in my life. I would rather that those people expose themselves, and I don’t leave myself open to them. I would rather cleanse myself of all those fake superficial relationships than have them still around.”
