Ronda Rousey recently sat down with Joe Rogan’s good friend, Bert Kreischer and discussed a wide range of different topics from MMA’s lack of respect for legends to being the GOAT, from Dana White vs Vince McMahon to fighter pay, but one of the more interesting parts of the interview was when UFC commentator Joe Rogan was brought up.
Rousey is, without a doubt, one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time. Carrying the women’s division on her back for the majority of her career, she single-handedly forced women into the UFC. A captivating figure, there’s no doubt that MMA fans today don’t appreciate the impact and legacy that she left on the sport. Afterall, she’s a UFC hall of famer for a reason.
As we know, Joe Rogan is one of the more respected names in the world of MMA. He’s been a face around the UFC for almost 30 years and many would regard him of the voice of the UFC. In recent years, fans have become critical of Rogan for his opinions when calling fights, believing that there are better options in the booth than Rogan, however, when he leaves the UFC, he’ll certainly be missed.
On Kreischer’s podcast, Ronda Rousey was questioned about how she handles media members saying one thing and then ‘talking trash’ about her behind her back, with Ariel Helwani’s name being prominent throughout. She responded by saying:
“That’s why I don’t talk to those people anymore. When’s the last time you saw me on Ariel Helwani? It’s been a long time because I remember that s---”.
Kreischer noted how it’s ‘weird’ for people to be a critic without ever having fought, to which Rousey commented:
“MMA fans and media are the most ‘what have you done for us lately?’ crowd of any sport”.
Interestingly, she also noted that fans are such big supporters of Khabib Nurmagomedov because he “retired before he reached his limit. If he would have reached his limit, everybody would be like Khabib aint s---, he never was s---”.
Towards the end of the interview, Kreischer jokingly tells Rousey that he had spoken to Joe Rogan to ask him how long he would have to train to beat her. Rousey replies, turning things serious by saying:
“He wouldn’t know, he’s not an expert, he’s a fan with an audience”.

When asked if that’s how she felt, she remarked that Rogan has never fought, being slightly rebutted when being reminded that he fought in taekwondo. Rousey laughed and said, “Never fought, that’s not fighting”.
A damning statement from a UFC legend. Ronda Rousey has been on Rogan’s podcast a number of times, however, she hasn’t featured on ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ for a number of years.
