Recently playing down a rumored return to the UFC, bantamweight star Ronda Rousey has made the right decision, according to a current contender.

Forever linked with a return to the Octagon ever since her ill-fated comeback in 2016, inaugural bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has been tied to countless events.

Most recently, however, the Riverside native has been linked with a monumental comeback at next summer’s UFC White House card in the capital.

However, as far as a recent UFC Vegas 110 winner is concerned, Rousey would struggle with the size and ability of her fighting counterparts nowadays.

Norma Dumont warns Ronda Rousey away from UFC return

Prevailing in her return to action against perennial contender Ketlen Vieira, stalwart challenger Norma Dumont has no qualms about welcoming Rousey back to the Octagon.

However, with an explicit warning, Dumont speculated the former bantamweight queen would come unstuck in rather brutal fashion against today’s contenders at her former stomping ground.

“I don’t think that the conditions are right for her (Rousey) to come back,” Dumont told Ariel Helwani. “I think the girls today are much stronger, much bigger. I think she complains too much. She complains about the public. She complains about everything.”

“I don’t think she really has a desire to go back into the Octagon,” Dumont explained. “… I think she’d get beaten up a lot.”

Ronda Rousey’s title run

Landing in the promotion as the undisputed bantamweight champion from the get-go, Rousey grabbed enough headlines during her Strikeforce run.

Fighting through some major adversity in her Octagon debut, Rousey would go on to turn in a dominant run at 135lbs.

During her pomp, the judoka would secure a total of six title defenses, including a dominant three-fight stretch over the course of a record-breaking year.
