'See You Soon Boy!' Yoel Romero Sends Cheeky Reply to Darren Till's Fight Callout

Darren Till made a statement in his boxing outing at the Misfits Boxing event earlier this month with a third-round knockout victory over former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold. In the wake of this successful run in boxing, many have speculated over potential opponents for his next fight, listing names such as Carl Froch, Jorge Masvidal, and Andrew Tate.

One fellow UFC veteran, however, made sure his name was included in the conversation.

In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, former UFC middleweight title challenger Yoel Romero mentioned that he was impressed with Till’s performance and wants to fight him next.

This prompted a response from Till, who posted an insulting message on X (formerly Twitter) reacting to a clip of their interview.

“Yoel shut ya f— fat old mouth. Think I give a sh— about you nowadays?” he wrote in his tirade. “Come over to boxing and I’ll leave ur fat juiced head on the canvas.”

This prompted “Soldier of God” to clap back with one of his most iconic catchphrases in his own X post.

In a quote repost of Till’s reaction, Yoel added, “You say this to me [Darren Till]? I luh youuuu. See you soon, boi .”

In his post, Romero is referencing his now iconic, hilarious post-fight interview after his win over Chris Weidman nine years ago at UFC 205, when he called out Michael Bisping.

The potential matchup is fascinating for people who watch and appreciate exhibition boxing. At 48 years old, Romero possesses astounding athleticism and a granite chin, both qualities that are even more impressive given his advanced age. Till is a more technically refined boxer compared to Romero, with a proven kickboxing pedigree and now, growing confidence in the boxing ring.

This heated online exchange could definitely materialize into an official bout, as Romero has been on a post-MMA career run, knocking out lesser competition under various rulesets.

Both fighters left their UFC careers to pursue relatively lucrative careers in exhibition boxing and boxing-adjacent sports leagues like Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship and Dirty Boxing Championship. The winner will likely seek a payday and angle for a fight against Jake Paul.

Lately, however, Paul seems to have his eyes set on facing professional boxers and retired boxers, and is less likely to face retired MMA fighters like he did earlier in his career. As an officially ranked professional boxer, Paul’s exhibition boxing matches may only be against well-known household names, as evidenced by his latest exhibition fight against Mike Tyson, and his upcoming exhibition match against Gervonta “Tank” Davis.
