Movsar Evloev and Aljamain Sterling have gone back and forth building up their upcoming fight at UFC 307. The Russian recently responded to Aljamain Sterling’s accusations that he may be using performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs). Here is what happened:
Movsar Evloev recently sat down for a conversation with MMAFighting. During their discussion, the Russian featherweight addressed Sterling’s accusations while strongly denying the American’s claims. Evloev stated that he has always been clean and expressed his trust in the UFC’s doping control measures.
It’s like, if you talk without proof, where I from, just like some girl stuff. Men don’t talk like that, and yeah, I can’t wait to beat his a*s. Movsar Evloev on MMA Fighting
Aljamain Sterling, in an interview, had mentioned hearing rumors that Evloev was not a clean athlete. He compared these rumors to the ones surrounding former bantamweight champion, T.J. Dillashaw before he was caught for doping. Evloev is eager to settle the matter inside the Octagon when they face off at UFC 307 this October. It is important to note that Evloev has been tested 4 times in 2024, testing negatively on all 4 occasions. Sterling has been tested 5 times with a similar result.

As such, Evloev firmly believes that Sterling will have to “answer about his words” once the cage door closes. The #6 featherweight revealed that he had been waiting for the former bantamweight champion for a long time— ever since he won his last fight against Calvin Kattar at UFC 300.
Aljamain Sterling’s heated exchange with Movsar Evloev will not stop anytime soon. The undefeated Russian recently commented on social media about Sterling’s controversial win over Petr Yan back in 2021. Evloev suggested that Sterling exaggerated the damage from the illegal knee that led to Yan’s disqualification and Sterling subsequently winning the bantamweight title.
Sterling fired back in the comments where he highlighted his title wins and dismissed Evloev’s remarks. Back at UFC 259, Yan was leading the fight but made a costly mistake by following his corner’s advice, leading to the disqualification. Sterling became the first UFC fighter to win a title by disqualification, a decision that sparked significant controversy.
Yes, illegal knees that you don’t see to the temple, turned me to an “actor”. Makes perfect sense ♂️

As for Movsar Evloev, despite being undefeated with an exceptional professional record, he has not secured a title fight due to several factors. Firstly, the featherweight division is highly competitive, with many established fighters ahead of him in the rankings. Additionally, Evloev has faced setbacks due to injuries and the timing of matchups that have not aligned well for a title run.
