Tallison Teixeira decisions Tai Tuivasa at UFC 325

Hard-hitting heavyweights Tai Tuivas and Tallison Teixeira collided on the UFC 325 main card in Sydney, Australia on Saturday.

Tuivasa entered the fight ranked No. 12 in the division but on an extensive losing streak. "Bam Bam" had lost his last five fights and hadn't felt victory since February 2022. He was in desperate need of a win and may have been fighting to stay on the roster.

Teixeira made the walk to the octagon inside Qudos Bank Arena looking to rebound from his first career loss in his previous outing. "Xicao" had the opportunity to get back in the win column and move up in the rankings.

Tuivasa came out aggressive taking the fight to Teixeira. The fight went to the ground and Teixeira hammered away with right hands as Tuivasa tried to stand. Tuivasa got to his feet but Teixeira kept the pressure on. Teixeira tripped Tuivasa back to the canvas. Tuivasa tied up Teixeira's arms to avoid taking damage. Teixeira got his right arm free and used it to punch. Teixeira delivered a series of hard right hands. Tuivasa got back to his feet and they separated. Tuivasa clinched and the battled for position along the cage. MMAWeekly scored the round 10-9 for Teixeira.

Teixeira opened the second frame with leg kicks. Tuivasa connected with a right hand. Teixeira responded with a combaiton and changed levels. He took Tuivasa down and advanced to the mount. Tuivasa rolled to his knees before rollin to his back. Teixeira stayed on top and delivered punches and elbows. MMAWeekly scored the round 10-9 for Teixeira.

Tuivasa presused Teixeira to begin the third. Teixeira used teep kicks to keep Tuivasa on the outside. Tuivasa closed the distance and clinched. They separate and Tuivasa connected with a hard right hand. He followed up with a combination Teixeira responded with a right. Tuivasa clinched. They separated with two minutes remaining. Both men looked exhausted. Tuivasa clinched again. Tuivasa landed an elbow on the inside. Teixeira looked for a takedown. Tuivasa stuffed the attempt. MMAWeekly scored the round 10-9 for Tuivaasa.

The judges scored the fight for Teixeira via unanimous decision. All three scorecards read 29-28.
