Johan Ghazali remains one of ONE Championship’s hottest young stars. However, the Malaysian-American phenom is looking to regain some of his momentum by getting back in the win column on Friday, June 6, against Diego Paez. As he continues to develop as an athlete, Ghazali is also learning how to cope with the game he has attained.
“It isn’t easy, but I learn to cope with it every day. I learn to make the most of my time and all the roads and the moments from the past give me more experience. I’m better at handling stuff. I’m better at making things go a lot smoother now,” Johan Ghazali confessed to ONE.

In his two years on the global stage, Johan Ghazali has become known as the potential future of the flyweight division. The 18-year-old’s exciting style and clear athletic gifts have drawn eyes to him from near and far. In those two years, “Jojo” has added to his team to help him grow his brand and handle all the trappings of success.
“I have a bigger team now. I have a manager. I have photographers. I have a whole team behind me now. So it’s a lot easier than it was before. All this comes with experience. To keep it short, the more I do it, the better I get at handling fame, deals, and everything that comes with my growing career in ONE Championship,” the Malaysian-American stated.
Johan Ghazali has also been able to enjoy new things outside of the ring, most notably his love of fashion. While he does enjoy standing out, “Jojo” enjoys classic tailoring most of all. It has given him just as much confidence outside of competition as his hard-hitting style does inside of it.
“I’m a huge fan of fashion. I love looking good. I love styling myself up, and I love having a style that makes people notice me. I love being presentable. When it comes to brand, I love the regular Ralph Laurens, you know? I love custom-made suits. I love suits that fit me like a glove. I do wear designer brands here and there, but I’m not a huge fan of them. I prefer more custom-tailored suits or something casual and timeless,” Ghazali remarked.
His love of fashion will be on display ahead of his match against Paez. Johan Ghazali says he will debut his newest suit at the pre-event press conference. The 18-year-old will style leading up to the event, where he hopes to style over the Californian to pick up a victory and get back into the flyweight mix.
“I had [a custom suit] made a few months ago. It is a pinstripe three-piece suit. It’s a really nice suit. I really love the suit. It fits me so well, and I can’t wait to wear it for a press conference soon,” Johan Ghazali said.
ONE Fight Night 32 airs live on Prime Video on Friday, June 6. The action begins at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. The event is free for all Amazon Prime members in the U.S. and Canada.
