The Fallout From The Dillon Danis Brawl

Jorge Masvidal says he planned to confront Dillon Danis just before Danis was involved in a brawl with members of Islam Makhachev’s team at UFC 322, as we look at the wider fallout.

Masvidal and Danis are not on good terms, having exchanged verbals on social media throughout the years. Danis has previously said he would beat Masvidal in a street fight, something Gamebread has responded to. However, it was Makhachev’s team who confronted Danis, with Magomed “Chanco” Zaynukov being the main person throwing blows towards Danis. The incident led to Danis being hit with a lifetime ban from all future UFC events. Masvidal, who was in attendance to watch the main event between Islam Makhachev and Jack Della Maddalena, said he was going to confront Danis before the brawl started.

“He did get his a** beat by the Muslim brotherhood. They stole it from me because I was literally on my way to whooping this [expletive] ass. He was sending me a couple of message and I was like, ‘Alright cool. You keep sending me messages, brother. We’re going to have to see each other.’ As I start walking towards my seat in the VIP room, I run into Chanco. I’m like, ‘What’s up, man?’ The police was all over him. I go, ‘What happened, brother?’ He’s like, ‘Nah, just chilling bro. All good.’ I see his hands are bloody and I’m like, ‘Nah, something happened. What happened with you, man? Look at your hand.’ He goes, ‘No, no, all good, bro. Little problem. I took care of it,” Masvidal said

It never even crossed my mind, as stupid as that could be, that the entire Muslim brotherhood was here tonight in the first five rows for Islam [Makhachev]. As soon as it broke out, I was over to the side and I said, ‘F–k, I know exactly what that is,” White revealed

Since the incident, Islam’s coach (Javier Mendez) has expanded on the reason for the brawl. He revealed it was due to a controversial AI video, showing Makhachev kissing his manager Ali Abdelaziz. Mendez also stated that Danis had allegedly shared a picture of Makhachev with ex-porn star Mia Khalifa. Those actions were deemed offensive, as more than 10 people from Islam’s team were involved in the Danis brawl. Mendez was not surprised by what had happened.

“They showed me the videos of what he was [posting]. They showed me the videos of Ali and Islam in a relationship-type embrace. And then a porn star and Islam embracing. What do you expect when you do that?,” Mendez stated
