Friday night saw two more big hints that CM Punk is on his way back to WWE in the near future.

Punk was released from AEW last month following a backstage altercation at AEW All In: London. There have been conflicting reports about Punk being in talks with WWE, but the CM Punk references on WWE television have been hard to miss.

Seth Rollins has referred to himself as the 'Best in the World,' a moniker often ascribed to Punk. WWE broadcaster Corey Graves mentioned on commentary this week, 'the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he doesn't exist' - a line used by Punk during one of his infamous Ring of Honor promos many years ago.

On Friday's WWE SmackDown season premiere, WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and John Cena referred to Cena as 'John Boy' - a name Punk has called Cena before.

Another CM Punk Tease

Meanwhile, in the month of November, WWE Survivor Series Premium Live Event will take place at the Allstate Arena in Punk's home state of Illinois. Thus, fans have a firm belief that the former WWE Champion would return at the show.

Punk further fueled the speculation when he was part of the announce team for Cage Fury Fighting Championships CFFC 126 in Tampa. When MMA broadcaster John Morgan joked that Punk "may be going to another promotion" - he laughed and joked that Anthony Pettis Fighting Championship (APFC) is in November.

Was that on purpose? Is it a co-incidence? Well, the teases just keeping coming in. Fans are certainly looking forward to Survivor Series and only time will tell if CM Punk makes his return.
