Merab Dvalishvili will be the next Georges St-Pierre, according to John Wood.

The MMA aficionado has very high hopes for his student.

In an interview with Inside Fighting, he said: “I do think Merab is primed and prepped to go on a legendary run.

“I don’t think anybody realizes how raw and green in MMA Merab actually is; he’s got so much room to grow.

“He’s getting so much better every camp. I’d stay focused on beating the next guy and maintaining your championship.

“I think he can be this generation’s ‘GSP’ if he keeps evolving.”

Equalling the achievements of St-Pierre certainly won’t be easy for Dvalishvili.
