The co-main event of UFC 299 between Dustin Poirier and Benoit Saint-Denis has come to a close.

Poirier and Saint-Denis shared the Octagon inside the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida on Saturday night. Poirier entered the fight as an underdog, as the Saint-Denis hype train was rolling.

In the end, it was Poirier who emerged victorious, silencing the doubters.

Saint-Denis showed no fear right away, finding himself in a choke almost immediately, but he got out of danger. He ended up taking Poirier's back and going for an arm bar near the end of the opening frame.`

Saint-Denis was rocked with an uppercut in the second stanza. "The Diamond" went against the advice of his cornermen, and went for a guillotine. It almost backfired, as Saint-Denis got his back early in the round.

Poirier was able to get out of the choke attempt. He countered Saint-Denis with a mammoth right hand to close the show. Poirier won this fight via second-round KO.
