UFC President Dana White shook up the MMA world on Wednesday, February 19 when he dropped a huge announcement that included the unveiling of 14 fights across three events.

In that announcement, White revealed three championship fights. Two of those championship fights landed on UFC 315: welterweight champion, Belal Muhammad will defend his title against Jack Della Maddalena. In the co-main event in Montreal, women's flyweight champion, Valentina Shevchenko will defend her title against Manon Fiorot.

Just when you thought UFC 315 couldn’t get any better, another potential war is on the horizon. another compelling fight has been added to the May 10 card.

First reported by Álvaro Colmenero, we have Joel Álvarez and Benoît Saint-Denis set for a clash at UFC 315. This fight has "Somebody’s going to sleep" written all over it. "El Fenomeno" Álvarez is riding a red-hot streak, winning four of his last five fights, including a recent TKO finish over Drakkar Klose

The Spanish finisher has shown time and time again proving he’s a submission specialist with growing striking skills. Meanwhile, "God of War" Saint-Denis has won three of his last five but is looking to bounce back after a two-fight skid, including a doctor’s stoppage loss to Renato Moicano in Paris. Despite the recent setbacks, Saint-Denis is known for his resilience and pressure, making him a tough matchup for anyone at 155 pounds.

Between them, they’ve racked up 12 finishes in their victories, making it high and likely that someone isn’t making it to the scorecards.

If the UFC finalizes this matchup, it could be a highly competitive bout with significant divisional impact. Both fighters have a lot to prove, and their styles suggest an exciting and closely contested fight.
