UFC stars will be training FBI agents.
The idea of having some of MMA’s best fighters helping agents was first floated by FBI director Kash Patel when he took the helm in early 2025.
Patel has been seen at a number of UFC events, during which he apparently discussed the possibility of having fighters showing some moves to his agents.
Dana White said Patel was “dead serious” about the idea, which has now been proven by the announcement of a partnership.
White reacted to talk of his promotion’s athletes aiding the FBI in March 2025 and appeared to support the idea.
“You know, everybody wants to be the trainers of the FBI now,” White said during his press conference at UFC 313. I’ve got everybody hitting me up. But (Patel’s) dead serious about that. I talked about it tonight, he’s dead serious.
“So, we’ll see how that starts to come together,” he added.
Over a year later, things have indeed come together.
It was announced on UFC.com that the promotion has entered a partnership with the FBI that will see a number of star fighters leading training seminars on March 14 and 15 in Quantico, Virginia.
“I have tremendous respect for the FBI and the work they do every day to protect this country,” White said.
“Our UFC fighters are some of the baddest men and women on the planet and they are heading to Quantico to train the best FBI agents in mixed martial arts. It’s an incredible opportunity for our athletes to experience, and we’re proud to support the FBI in strengthening their defense techniques.”
According to the announcement, the fighters will “provide insight into how they train for competition, as well as demonstrate specific techniques and tactics.”
The sessions will be led by recently announced UFC White House headliner Justin Gaethje, former three-time Bellator champion Michael Chandler, middleweight legend Chris Weidman, inaugural BMF champ Jorge Masvidal, jiu-jitsu great Renzo Gracie, flyweight contender Manel Kape, and retired strawweight Claudia Gadelha.
“I’m thrilled to announce this historic seminar between the FBI and the UFC at Quantico,” Patel said. “This is a tremendous opportunity for our FBI agents to learn and train with some of the greatest athletes on earth – helping the world’s premier law enforcement agency be even better prepared to protect the American people.
“Dana White has changed the game in the mixed martial arts industry and we’re extremely honored to be partnered with him, the professionals, and the UFC. We are grateful for their shared love of our nation, so that we can better defend her.”
UFC matchmaker Mick Maynard is also set to attend the seminars, which will be for students at the FBI Special Agent Academy and senior agents “from around the world.”
