Longtime UFC veteran Randy Brown scored a statement win when he met Muslim Salikhov at UFC Vegas 85.
“Rude Boy” joined the UFC back in 2016 and experienced some growing pains in his first few bouts before he put together an impressive four-fight win streak that ended when Jack Della Maddalena submitted him in 2023.
The 33-year-old rebounded with a decision win over Wellington Turman, and at UFC Vegas 85 he kicked off the year in incredible fashion when he floored Salikhov with a perfect right straight and landed a follow-up shot on the ground for good measure.
The welterweight bout between Brown and Salikhov was one of the most highly-anticipated fights at UFC Vegas 85, and “Rude Boy” proved that he's more than capable of striking with another veteran known for scoring highlight-reel knockouts.
UFC Vegas 85 opened with a pair of decisions, but Brown’s performance before the main and co-main events added to a violent night of action that also included big knockouts from Charles Radtke and Themba Gorimbo, as well as a huge submission victory for fan favorite Molly McCann.
The quick night of work that “Rude Boy” put in against Salikhov should allow him to return to the cage relatively quickly, and in his post-fight interview, Brown called for a fight against Michael Chiesa on the highly-anticipated UFC 300 card that takes place on April 13.
