UFC Vegas 110 is off to a great start.
A week after the anticlimactic ending of UFC 321 between Tom Aspinall and Ciryl Gane, the premier promotion returns to the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, for a Fight Night event.
Featherweights Steve Garcia and David Onama enter their first main event against each other. Waldo Cortes-Acosta co-headlines across from Tom Aspinall’s training partner and former PFL heavyweight champion Ante Delija.
Saturday’s 13-fight card might not be the best on paper, but the prelims began with a bang in the UFC’s lightest weight division.
Talita Alencar improved to 3-1 in the Octagon with her latest win at UFC Vegas 110.
Ariane Carnelossi was the final fight of Alencar’s contract. After nothing but decisions since her Contender Series appearance, the Brazilian knew she needed a statement performance on fight night.
Alencar nearly finished Carnelossi with an overhand and a knee in the second round.
Carnelossi couldn’t withstand Alencar for long. In the final round, Alencar took Carnelossi to the ground and worked her way to the rear-naked choke to brutally force the tap out of Carnelossi for her first UFC finish.
“I want to re-sign, Dana,” Alencar said following her win.
“Muah,” Alencar blew a kiss at the camera.
“Let’s go, Sean Shelby.”
Alencar is now 7-1-1 as a pro. This is the 35-year-old’s first finish in three years.

“Why is tomorrow’s and next weekend’s UFC [event] so bad?”
That’s what one fan asked UFC CEO Dana White on Nina Drama’s latest live-stream.
UFC Vegas 110 received some criticism from the MMA world about the quality of the card. David Onama and Steve Garcia have never headlined an event before.
“Lemme ask you a question,” White responded to the fan.
“How is it bad when it hasn’t even happened yet,” White added.

“Watch it tomorrow and if it’s bad, tell me it’s bad,” said White.
