According to MMA Junkie, Alexander Volkov (38-11 MMA, 6-4 UFC) is still befuddled as to why he wasn’t victorious against former heavyweight interim champion, Ciryl Gane (13-2 MMA, 10-2 UFC).
It was one of the big controversies of UFC 310.
The bout was competitive true enough, but not only did Volkov think he should have won but Dana White was in agreement that Volkov had fought clean and did enough to win against Gane.
In a post-fight interview, Volkov said, “It was a bullsh*t decision, for sure. I don’t accept this. I don’t know what we’re going to do with the decision. I’m absolutely sure I won the fight. I did much more than Gane.”
At one point during the press conference, Volkov even questioned who the judges were and what they saw.
The judges for the fight were Adalaide Byrd, Junichiro Kamijo, and Eric Colon. Byrd and Kamijo scored 29-28 for Ciryl Gane. Colon scored the first 28-29 in favor of Volkov.

Volkov ended the press conference with disgust, commenting, “I respect Ciryl Gane, he walked out of the cage after the decision because he didn’t feel this, too. Nothing bad to my opponent, just upset with the commission. I can’t agree with this.”
