UFC legend Don Frye recently spoke highly of Khabib Nurmagomedov, calling the former lightweight champion “bulletproof” and reflecting on just how dominant he was during his career. Frye, known for his own storied MMA career, didn’t hold back when praising the Russian powerhouse.

“Khabib was everybody’s match,” Frye said. “Nobody was going to beat that guy. He was ten feet tall and bulletproof. He’s phenomenal; there’s nothing you can take away from him.” Frye’s comments highlight the aura of invincibility Khabib carried in the octagon. Ever since his retirement, he has been using his platform to help other UFC fighters, too.

He also acknowledged Khabib’s disciplined approach to retirement. “He hit his goal, and he’s staying there; he’s maintaining it. If he were to advance it a little, then he’d come back, but he has no desire to come back, and you can’t blame him because nobody ever challenged him.”

Frye’s words capture the essence of Khabib’s career: a fighter who not only conquered his division but also left the sport on his own terms.

Frye’s assessment reinforces what many fans and fighters have long believed—that Khabib was in a league of his own. The Dagestani star dominated every opponent in his path, with his wrestling-heavy style and relentless pressure leaving little room for mistakes. Fighters like Conor McGregor, Dustin Poirier, and Justin Gaethje all fell to his methodical game plan, solidifying his reputation as an untouchable champion.

Even years after his last fight, Khabib’s impact on MMA remains palpable. He has been using his wisdom now in his camp. Frye’s comments serve as a reminder of just how rare it is to see a fighter retire undefeated while maintaining absolute dominance over an entire division. His decision to step away from the octagon also emphasizes his respect for the sport and his understanding of personal limits—something Frye clearly admires.

Khabib’s legacy, as Frye describes, isn’t just about victories but about the way he achieved them. He became a benchmark for excellence in MMA, showing what it means to be disciplined, fearless, and unstoppable. According to Frye, Khabib wasn’t just a champion—he was a phenomenon, a fighter so complete that the notion of defeat seemed almost impossible.
