UFC legend Georges St-Pierre reveals love for new sport

Georges "Rush" St-Pierre is one of the most decorated and celebrated mixed martial artists in UFC history.

The retired French Canadian UFC fighter is a three-time welterweight champion widely considered to be one of the greatest pound-for-pound fighters in UFC and MMA history.

Recently, St-Pierre took to his Instagram account to share a newfound love for a more mainstream sport, one that few of his followers expected they would ever see him playing: basketball.

St-Pierre posted a video of himself trying out a spin move on an asphalt court in a post that has garnered tens of thousands of likes. It drew comments from St-Pierre's legion of fans, including another former UFC welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman, aka the "Nigerian Nightmare."

Usman left three fire emojis in the comments section in support of the former UFC welterweight champ.

St-Pierre has been known to cross-train in a variety of different sports and martial arts disciplines, including gymnastics, swimming, wrestling, karate, stand-up paddleboarding and more.

He's launched his own fitness programs and continued to stay fit and ready to compete well after his February 2019 retirement.

St-Pierre, now 43 years old, was expected to make his long-awaited return to combat sports this past April on a UFC-sanctioned grappling card against Nick Diaz, but was forced to withdraw due to injury and said he hoped to rebook sometime in the future.
