Michael Chandler received yet another call-out at Noche UFC on Saturday night.

The former Bellator Lightweight Champion has been hearing more and more of them following his TKO loss to Paddy Pimblett at UFC 314 in April.

Once in the top five of the division, the 39-year-old Chandler is now on a three-fight losing skid to Pimblett , Charles Oliveira and Dustin Poirier.

Chandler is currently ranked #12 at lightweight and a former top contender is looking to take his place.

Alexander Hernandez willing to fight Michael Chandler before the end of the year

Alexander Hernandez has entered the prime of his UFC career.

The 32-year-old made it back-to-back knockouts in back-to-back months at Noche UFC, where he knocked out a more experienced veteran in Diego Ferreira in the second round.

Post-fight, Hernandez called his shot at ‘Iron’ Michael Chandler.

“That’s a sexy fight,” Hernandez explained his call-out of Chandler at the Noche UFC post-fight press conference (via Cageside Press).

“I think it’s awesome.

“I think the fans dig it,” Hernandez added.

“Similar structures, different styles, but just an exciting name in the top 15,” said Hernandez.

Despite some injuries, Hernandez mentioned he’d probably ‘bite’ if the UFC offered him another fight before the end of the year.

In his 17-fight UFC run, Hernandez has wins over former top-3 contender Beneil Dariush , Jim Miller, Olivier Aubin-Mercier, Chase Hooper, Kurt Holobaugh—the list goes on. He cracked the top-15 rankings in his UFC debut back in 2018.

Meanwhile, Chandler is 2-5 in the UFC against the division’s elite.

Alexander Hernandez has second-longest win streak at lightweight behind Paddy Pimblett

After exchanging wins and losses earlier in his career, Hernandez now has five wins in a row when competing at 155 lbs.

Believe it or not, Hernandez only trails behind Paddy Pimblett for the longest active win streak in the division (7).

Hernandez is currently tied with Nasrat Haqparast and Fares Ziam for the second-longest streak.

We’ll see if Hernandez has done enough to return to the top-15 rankings on Tuesday.
