UFC Vegas 102: Cannonier Vs. Rodrigues

Hot off a pay-per-view event in Australia, the UFC returns to Las Vegas this weekend as former middleweight title challenger Jared Cannonier faces a dangerous striker and seasoned grappler in Gregory Rodrigues for a five-round Apex main event.

Cannonier seeks to bounce back from a losing skid, having lost back-to-back fights against current top contenders Caio Borralho and Nassourdine Imavov. Rodrigues, on the other hand, is coming off three wins and looks to kick off his own title run by defeating one of the division’s mainstays in Cannonier.

The main card begins on ESPN+ at 7 p.m. ET, preceded by the prelims at 4 p.m. ET.

In the co-main event, featherweight Calvin Kattar also vies to rebound from a losing streak by defeating Youssef Zalal, the surging Moroccan contender on a six-fight win streak, all by finish.

Kattar has not been in the win column since 2022, and this upcoming bout may be his last chance to remain in the featherweight rankings.

Elsewhere on the card:

Elijah Smith, the son of UFC veteran Gilbert Smith Jr., who won a contract from Dana White’s Contender Series .
Ismael and Gabriel Bonfim, two brothers from Brazil with extensive experience on the Brazilian regional scene, vying to duplicate that success in the UFC.
Angela Hill, the fan-favorite veteran Muay Thai specialist who has been rounding out her game over the years.
