When David Onama and Nate Landwehr met inside the Octagon in 2022, they put on one of the craziest UFC fights of all time.

This coming Saturday, the premier promotion returns to the Apex for UFC Vegas 110, headlined by a featherweight matchup between David Onama and Steve Garcia.

‘The Silent Assassin’ is riding an impressive four fight win streak, with his last win being the most impressive of his career thus far when he picked up a decision win over Giga Chikadze.

In fact, Onama hasn’t lost inside the Octagon in over three years, and despite losing, he was part of one of the most memorable fights of 2022 when he took on Nate Landwehr.

Onama and Nate Landwehr competed in one of the craziest fights ever

When the promotion returned to San Diego in 2022, there were several big names on the card, however, it was the co-main event that captured all of the eyeballs.

Nate ‘The Train’ had already made a name for himself in the UFC after being involved in several back-and-forth fights.

Onama, though, was still relatively young in his MMA career and despite having scored some electrifying KOs, fans weren’t entirely familiar with his name.

Things immediately changed though in round one of their clash as the two began swinging for the bleachers straight away, getting involved in several exchanges that looked as though they could end the fight.

Not long into the round, Onama landed a knockdown after catching Landwehr with a right hook. Not too long after, he landed a huge overhand on the chin of ‘The Train’ which looked to have him out cold.

Despite that, Landwehr managed to stay in the fight and wobbled Onama several times in the remaining minutes of round one.

The next two rounds played out exactly the same, both wobbling each other several times as the fans in attendance went utterly bonkers at the Fight of the Year contender.

The two had run-in at hospital hours after Fight of the Year contender

After such a wild fight, both fighters of course ended up being transported to hospital for further examination.

And whilst they were both being assessed by a local medical team, they had another run-in at the hospital.

“I’ve seen him at the hospital,” Landwehr told MMAFighting.

“I was like, ‘I told you, you was gonna bleed, man. Well you bleeded didn’t you?’ That’s what I told him at the weigh-ins – at the weigh-ins I was like, ‘You think you’re the boogeyman, bro. Tomorrow, you’re gonna bleed.”

Landwehr stuck to his word by making Onama bleed, and fortunately, they were both too tired by the time they came face-to-face in the hospital, and nothing escalated.
