Matt Brown does not think everyone on the UFC White House card earned their spot.

The MMA leader staged its latest numbered event in Las Vegas on Saturday, but the UFC 326 fights were not the only things grabbing headlines.

During the broadcast, the UFC White House lineup was unveiled, and it is safe to say the card has split opinion in the fanbase.

Among those disappointed with the six-fight slate is Brown, who was even left questioning who two of the athletes are.

Since the UFC revealed which matchups will play out in Washington D.C. on June 14, a host of fighters and pundits have been giving their takes.

The latest to do so was Brown on an episode of MMA Fighting’s The Fighter vs. The Writer. He does not think the card has lived up to the expectations, especially due to Aiemann Zahabi and Kyle Daukaus’ inclusion.

“Initially when I first looked through the card, I was not impressed at all,” Brown said. “It’s a good card. It truly is. My kind of issue with the card, if my problems with this card mean anything, is they set the expectations high.

“On top of that, the bigger thing that kind of bothered me, this is a once-in-a-lifetime event that every UFC fighter on the roster wanted to fight at. I don’t think there’s a single person who’s like, ‘I don’t want to fight at the White House, on this historic event.’ They’ve got guys I’ve never even heard of.

“Like Zahabi, I’m like who the hell is that guy? And then it was, ‘Oh yeah, he’s Firas (Zahabi’s) brother or cousin or whatever he is. Kyle Daukaus? I actually don’t know who Kyle Daukaus is as a matter of fact,” he added.

“What did these guys do to earn the right to get on this card when every single person (wanted to be on it?)”

Zahabi will fight ex-champion Sean O’Malley , as both men look to stake their claims for a shot at the UFC bantamweight title down the line. The Canadian has won seven fights in a row, with the most recent two coming over the legendary Jose Aldo and Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera.

Middleweight Daukaus, meanwhile, has been matched with decorated wrestler Bo Nickal. ‘The D’Arce Knight’ worked his way back to the UFC after getting released over three years ago and has recorded two sub-minute finishes since returning.
