An upcoming fight has become intense following words exchanged between two competitors.

Israel Adesanya has recently spoken about his plans for retirement and how he sees the finish line getting closer despite not knowing exactly how long he wants to keep fighting for.

The former two-time UFC middleweight champion is already a legend of the sport but his current run of losses has led to many questioning what’s left for him.

We saw fans call for a beloved veteran to hang up the gloves following a rough loss just this past weekend at the Meta Apex.

A fighter believes that he’s going to force the hand of his next opponent when they face off on February 13.

Shahzaib Rind took issue with next opponent Diego Brandao referring to him as young

Diego Brandao’s 10-fight run in the UFC where he won ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ and faced the likes of Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier ended in 2016.

However, the Brazilian has continued to be consistently active since this point in his career, now boasting a record of 33-22.

Despite previously going six fights without a win, Brandao has received a second wind by producing a three-fight win streak in Tuff-N-Uff.

This Friday, the 38-year-old veteran faces a new challenge when he takes on Shahzaib Rind at Karate Combat 59, the same night that Valter Walker takes on Zion Clark.

Rind had gone undefeated in the promotion as their lightweight champion but felt like he was being belittled by Brandao, who referred to him as “young” ahead of their fight.

“That word made me angry,” the 27-year-old told Bloody Elbow. “I made a quote about him too, after this fight, he’s gonna beg for retirement because after this fight, he’s going to see how the real young people hit and how hard it is to fight in this age. So, after this, I think for sure he’s going to ask for retirement.”

Shahzaib Rind sees Diego Brandao as the next step towards an MMA transition

Before getting the matchup with Diego Brandao, Shahzaib Rind was set to take on a different former UFC fighter in Natan Levy.

He told Bloody Elbow that there is still a score to settle with the former lightweight that competed four times inside the Octagon.

Having spoken about wanting to compete in MMA, the striking specialist believes that beating both opponents that are now lined up for him will see him take a step closer to this switch.

“Then the world is going to know what level I’m on, that I have to fight only the best fighters. Then, that’s my plan, to switch to MMA at one point.”
