Combat sports athletes have to go through intense training camps, sometimes cut half of their body weight, and risk permanent damage almost every time they step in the ring. However, sometimes all of this gets to a fighter’s head and bursts out in a spurt of aggressiveness that results in brawls. Such an instance recently occurred at the Dirty Boxing 3 event.

The promotion is co-owned by former UFC double champion Jon Jones and former UFC star Mike Perry. For the unversed, Dirty Boxing incorporates a few rules of MMA, such as conditional ground and pound, and the allowance of elbow strikes in a specially designed ring. However, things went wrong at the Dirty Boxing 3 event after the early prelim middleweight bout between Sean Hotusing and Dustin Bailey.

Hotusing, who is a BKFC fighter, made his return after his debut at the inaugural Dirty Boxing 1 event. He was brutally knocked out by amateur MMA fighter Dustin Bailey in the second round with a nasty overhand. However, while Bailey was giving his post-fight interview, Hotusing punched a security guard in the background. This led to a full-on brawl with Hotusing being taken down and later separated.

Dirty Boxing was founded by Perry and entrepreneur Josh McLean in 2024 and hosted the first-ever DBX-Pilot event in November of that year. However, Jon Jones quickly signed as a co-owner after watching former UFC veteran Yoel Romero knock out Power Slap athlete Duane Crespo in the first round.

The first official Dirty Boxing event was held in March 2025. The event saw Romero put on a dominant display of knockout power against Ras Hylton, a 6-foot-6-inch-tall MMA fighter. The ‘Soldier of God’ was able to knock out Hylton in the second round with a technical two-punch combination, which inaugurated the first-ever DBX1 main event.

Multiple MMA fighters have joined the league, including UFC veterans Andrei Arlovski and Alex Caceres. The DBX-3 event also featured controversial UFC fighter Bryan Battle, who made his debut after being cut from the UFC due to continuous weight misses. The promotion is experiencing rapid growth due to its star power and unique rules, offering fans a new experience in the world of combat sports.

Jairzinho Rozenstruik showcases exceptional knockout power at Dirty Boxing 3

There is no doubt that a heavyweight clash often produces highlight reel knockouts and entertaining performances. Former UFC heavyweight Jairzinho Rozenstruik possesses exceptional knockout power and has a history of leaving his opponents unconscious on the canvas. Rozenstruik recently showcased the same knockout power when he knocked out former PFL fighter Rakim Cleveland at DBX-3.

He made his Dirty Boxing debut at the DBX-2 event and knocked out professional MMA fighter Victor Cardoso in the second round. However, at DBX-3, ‘Bigi Boy’ wasted no time and knocked out Cleveland in the first round after he tried to close the distance. The exceptional knockout also earned him the inaugural DBX heavyweight championship.

The Surinamese native had a decent UFC career, with nine wins and six losses, including victories over notable fighters such as Tai Tuivasa, Alistair Overeem, and Chris Daukaus. However, Rozenstruik was unexpectedly cut from the UFC after his lackluster decision loss to Sergei Pavlovich in February 2025.

At DBX-3, he reminded fans of his early career form, using the same explosive striking that earned him eight UFC finishes to secure a decisive win. In hindsight, being cut from the UFC stripped away the complacency and pressure, allowing him to rediscover his identity as a finisher. This proved that the end of one chapter sparked the resurgence that led to his victory at Dirty Boxing 3.
