After missing out on commentating Dustin Poirier’s final fight in the UFC, whether Joe Rogan will be at the desk for UFC 319 is something fans have been wondering leading up to the event.
The comedian-turned-commentator has been a part of the UFC since 1997, when he was just a fan getting involved with the company.
Joe Rogan first appeared as a backstage interviewer at UFC 12, before being invited to do commentary by Dana White after Zuffa took over the promotion in 2001.
However, his absence from the commentary desk at UFC 318 has fans questioning whether or not Rogan will be commentating at UFC 319 on August 16.
All signs point towards Rogan being on commentary for UFC 319, as there has been no mention of his missing the event in the weeks leading up to the show.
When he missed UFC 318, it was announced the week before that Rogan would not be commenting on the card, which featured a main event between Max Holloway and Dustin Poirier.
MMAJunkie reported that Rogan would miss the show one week before the event, on July 12.

With just over a week to go until Dricus du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev’s main event at the United Center in Chicago, there has been no talk about Rogan missing a second UFC PPV in a row, for the first time in many years.
The full card for UFC 319 is filled with some impressive fights that will be made even more exciting with Rogan calling it on commentary, as he has done on almost every major UFC event in years gone by.
UFC 318 marked the first US PPV event in over three years that Rogan was forced to miss, being replaced on the desk by Jon Anik, alongside Daniel Cormier and Paul Felder.
The stand-up comedian didn’t have a conflict of schedules with his podcast or any other TV shows.
Instead, Rogan and his family were enjoying a vacation around Europe, and were pictured aboard a luxury megayacht in numerous cities, including Venice, Italy, and Brac Island in Croatia.
As he has not mentioned another upcoming vacation on his podcast this week and has not been pictured on holiday anywhere, it is expected that Rogan will be on commentary for UFC 319, unless exceptional circumstances change it closer to fight night.
The last event he missed before that was at UFC 271 in Houston. The reason for that was originally announced as a scheduling issue, although Dana White later revealed that Rogan made the choice not to appear.
