Good news has finally fallen upon the friends and family of wrestler Syko Stu, known to those close to him as Stuart Smith. After withstanding a disturbing beating while unconscious at the hands of Rampage Jackson’s son, Smith has regained consciousness in the hospital and is able to speak.
The attack is being considered one of the worst sports entertainment incidents in recent history, and punishment will likely befall the perpetrator. Many feared the worst after witnessing the horrific assault, and while conscious, the military veteran has a long battle to full recovery ahead.
Days after the unfortunate events at KnokX Pro Wrestling, Stuart Smith woke up and began conversing. Smith has a long way to go to return to full health, but his brother has provided some insight into how the 39-year-old has been since the horror scenes on August 23.
"Thank you for the outpouring of support," Stuart Smith's brother stated on social media. "Stuart is conscious and does have some recollection of events from the day of the attack."
"Thank you everyone for reaching out, it's been difficult to get back to everyone individually. We will be setting up something for anyone wishing to donate."
While it's unable to prevent the pain he endured and will sustain following the horrific attack, the support for Stuart Smith has been outstanding.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to aid Smith's recovery, and at the time of writing, it has raised over $210,000. Popular YouTuber Mr. Beast and several professional wrestlers, including Chris Jericho, are among the highest donors to the cause.
In what has undoubtedly been a trying time for all involved, they can finally smile as the family man continues his recuperation.
Stuart Smith is thankful for those who have stood by him and shown support. Before resting up, Smith sent a message to his fans.
"Thank you for the love and support."
