Alex Marquez clears the air after that verbal spat the Spanish rider spoke for the first time after his heated exchange with Francesco Bagnaia. The accident occurred when Bagnaia attempted to overtake Marquez, who had run wide, leading to a serious crash involving both riders.

In the aftermath of the crash, FIM Stewards for the event analyzed the situation and decided that no further action was required. They also concluded that no rider was largely responsible for the accident. Still, Alex Marquez has complained about some statements of Bagnaia associated with the incident mentioned above.

Francesco Bagnaia’s Comments

Following the crash, Francesco Bagnaia suggested that Alex Marquez’s actions contributed to the incident. He claimed that Marquez kept his throttle open during the crash, which he found unusual. Bagnaia stated, “As soon as I entered the [next] corner [13], I heard his engine opening. He was opening the throttle. So he was trying to arrive at this contact. I wanted to look at that data… He remained with 60 percent, 40 percent of the throttle open until he crashed. So this is very strange by a rider, I think.”

Alex Marquez’s Response

In response, Alex Marquez took to social media to clarify his stance. He was a bit aggressive on some rumors that were circulating regarding him on the internet where he responded to them to clarify and also mentioned that he focused on himself to recover and to have a good comeback soon for the forthcoming race.

On Monday, he wrote, “After reading some statements, I would like to explain the following: I would never deliberately crash with another rider and I will never accept to be charged with it, it is not in my DNA and it is not in the DNA of this sport. The most important thing for me is the conversation I had yesterday with Pecco and, from my side, the issue is settled. Now it’s time to rest and recover my body to be at 100% in Misano.”

Finally, Alex Marquez said that he had talked to Bagnaia regarding the matter and deemed the conflict as over and done with. Neither Alex Marquez nor Bagnaia suffered any severe injuries and they are likely to be back at the Misano Grand Prix this coming weekend. The Aragon race itself was clinched by Marc Marquez, Alex’s brother and team-mate. Jorge Martin finished second in the race, which gives him a 23-point lead over Bagnaia in the championship standings.

Final Perspective

Alex Marquez has reacted to the words said by Francesco Bagnaia after the Aragon MotoGP race that saw them crash into each other. A crash occured as Bagnaia sought to overtake Marquez. Despite the FIM Stewards concluding that neither rider was fully to blame, tension remains between them.

Marc Marquez has responded to Bagnaia’s allegations, stating he is committed to racing clean. Everyone is more occupied with things occurring in the Aragon race as both of the riders gear up for the Misano Grand Prix.
