It’s a dogfight on the track at Michigan International Speedway for the FireKeepers 400 in the NASCAR Cup series. Several cautions have already been dropped, including a recent red flag, after Hendrick Motorsports’ Alex Bowman lost control and careened into an outside wall at 180 mph on lap 67. Luckily, no significant injuries have been reported, and Bowman seemed okay as he walked to the ambulance, which will transport him to the infield care center for further assessment.
Chase Briscoe, Cole Custer, Austin Cindric, and Daniel Suarez were also involved in the incident. The red flag was dropped on account of the spins coming out of the yellow flag restart by Legacy Motor Club’s John Hunter Nemechek and Noah Gragson. Post-collision, Alex Bowman was asked if he was okay, and over his radio, he could be heard saying, “That one was really f****ng big.”
Bowman has run into his fair share of issues on the track over the past few years, suffering a concussion and a broken back, so it was a sight for sore eyes to see Alex Bowman casually walking from his car to the ambulance. As more updates are made available regarding the incident, you will find them first here at Total Apex Sports, so stay tuned for updates on Alex Bowman’s condition and the latest on what is happening on the track. This story is still developing.
