To end his last-second run in the Chili Bowl, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is going to go through some alphabet soup if he wants that Golden Driller. Stenhouse Jr. like his NASCAR peer Kyle Larson, entered the event in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the last minute with Keith Kunz Motorsports.

Much like Larson, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. made it to his A-Main in the prelims. However, that race did not go according to plan for the NASCAR star. On Lap 2 of the race, Stenhouse got into the cushion, lost control, and wrecked.

It would be the end of the race for him and his team. With that poor finish in the A-Feature, Stenhouse Jr. will have to go from E to A if he even wants to sniff that Golden Driller.

Here is the A-Main from Friday. Stenhouse Jr. wrecks less than half a minute into the race.

Logan Seavey, looking to become a back-to-back champion, ended up winning the race. He would fight with polesitter Ryan Timms for most of this race. Seavey showed why he is one of the favorites by pulling off the A-Main win and locking himself into the main event later today.

It will be a long road for Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and his KKM team.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will have to race hard to make main event

The ultimate goal for Ricky Stenhouse Jr. today has to be to make the main event. However, that is going to be very difficult for him to do. Stenhouse Jr. will need to go from the E-Feature to D, C, B, and finally the main event.

It could be worse, the alphabet soup, that is often talked about at the Chili Bowl, starts with the P-Main. That’s a lot of racing, folks. In the E-Feature, Stenhouse Jr. will have to work his way up into the top-5 if he wants to advance.

He will have to do that in each of the races until the B. Then, he will have to be top-7 in order to make the big finale.

Right now, Logan Seavey, Tanner Carrick, Corey Day, Michael Kofoid, Spencer Bayston, Tanner Thorson, Ryan Timms, Shane Golobic, Hank Davis, and Jake Swanson are locked into the main event. Will Ricky Stenhouse Jr. be able to join them?
