Austin Hill to start from pole after NASCAR Xfinity Series practice, qualifying at Texas rained out

NASCAR Xfinity Series practice and qualifying for Saturday's Andy's Frozen Custard 300 was canceled on Friday afternoon.

A heavy rainstorm that plagued the 1.5-mile Texas Motor Speedway on Friday was also the reason for the cancellation of NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series practice and qualifying for Friday's SpeedyCash.com 250 (8 p.m. ET, FS1, NRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).

Just like in Friday's Truck Series race, the first laps drivers turn in their cars this weekend will be Lap 1 of Saturday's race, which isn't exactly an ideal situation.

With the starting lineup being set by NASCAR's metric — 70 percent finishing position in the last race and 30 percent owners points — Talladega winner Austin Hill will lead the field to the green flag on Saturday afternoon, with defending Xfinity Series champion Justin Allgaier to his outside.

Jesse Love, Jeb Burton and Harrison Burton make up the rest of the top-five, with Sheldon Creed, Sam Mayer, Matt DiBenedetto, Daniel Dye and Anthony Alfredo completing the top-10.

Other notable starters include Taylor Gray in 12th, Nick Sanchez in 14th, Kyle Larson — who is a substitute for Connor Zilisch — in 20th, Riley Herbst in 27th and Corey Day in 33rd.

The cancellation of qualifying means the No. 92 of CJ McLaughlin and the No. 74 of Dawson Cram will miss Saturday's race.

The Andy's Frozen Custard 300 will go green shortly after 2 p.m. ET on Saturday, with coverage on the CW, PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. Pre-race coverage will begin at 1:30 p.m. ET on PRN and the CW. Sam Mayer is the defending race winner.
