It was a tough day for Bubba Wallace at Pocono, with the veteran driver ending with a DNF after experiencing issues with his car. Wallace lost his brakes and then collided with the outer wall hard.
It ruined his day. After he exited the car, Wallace chatted with the Amazon Prime broadcast crew about the issue.
First and foremost, he discussed the mechanical failure. He explained the feedback he was getting from the car.
“None,” he said. “I was going to battle the 17 and the 2, by the time I was ready to touch the pedal it just went to the floor. Brakes exploded. Hate it. Two, three good races in a row, then here we go with the bad luck again. But hey, MJ told me there’s no such thing as bad luck. We create our own luck.”

Bubba Wallace, who is coming off a run of good races, including a top-five finish and a top-10 finish, was clearly frustrated after the race. He had finished sixth at Nashville, fourth at Michigan and 12th at Mexico City in advance of today’s race at Pocono.
But after dipping out early on Sunday, Wallace will be irked by the performance. The frustration was palpable.
“Apologize to the racing gods. This weekend sucked aside from practice, but that pays nothing,” Bubba Wallace said. “Hate it for my guys, hate it for McDonald’s. We knew it was going to be a grind. I was mentally prepared for that all day. As frustrating as it gets here to not be able to pass here at Pocono, we were just going to take our lumps and march our way through and set ourselves up for the end of the race. Brakes didn’t want to hang around that long.”
With the brake issue taking him out of the race, Bubba Wallace was asked if his teammate Tyler Reddick should be worried. He hesitated, then responded.
“Race your own race,” Wallace said. “Don’t worry about the things you can’t control, pal.”
